Autumn

It appears I have lost my enthusiasm for long, wordy blog posts (don't worry, I am sure it is temporary.) Regardless, I want to show husband what I have been up to for the past two weeks so here goes.

2 years

Today is our second wedding anniversary.

I was planning on celebrating like this...

but then husband managed to surprise me from halfway around the world with these...

The flowers included a personal note from husband, written in Italian.

He is the best.

Happy Anniversary P!

Doughnuts, phones, cupcakes etc.

I am a terrible blogger.

Truthfully, I have been so busy alternating between doing practically nothing (and loving it) and adventuring that I don't think about writing that much. Turns out grad-student levels of stress kept me blogging and now that I am leading a stress-free life (if only for 27 more days) I don't get the urge to write as often.

Anyway, this is a story about how I visited Bellingham two-maybe-three weeks ago.

It started with a facebook message from James. It went a little something (actually, exactly) like this.

Who could argue with that logic?

So I went and we had loads of fun eating delicious food, hanging out with friends, watching reality TV/ Jeopardy and encountering ridiculously nice people. Lucky for me/you, James is a more faithful blogger than I am and has already chronicled this part for me.

Stacey getting married

I met Stacey over a game of Sorry when I was three years old. Her sister and my brother were in the same first grade class and our mothers brought us with them when they came in to volunteer.

We have been best friends ever since.

Last Saturday, she got married and I can't imagine a better person for her to spend the rest of her life with than Brendon.

July 9, 2011 was a marathon (my favorite kind of marathon,) but I managed to snap a couple pictures here and there.

And now, I bring you my favorites.

Living Better

Here is where I halfheartedly apologize for not updating for the the last month.

In case you were concerned by my lack of posts, don't be. I have just been too busy living/loving life to write about it. That having been said, it is easier to hold myself accountable for my progress toward Kristi 2.0 when I blog.

Back in January I made a pretty ambitious plan for self-reinvention consisting of four stages. I am not going to go into a lot of detail here but I am counting Stage I (i.e. looking better) and Stage II (i.e. eating better) of the plan a rousing success. [Okay, the degree of success for Stage II is maybe debatable; but to be fair I never specified that better=healthier, I was thinking more deliberate and real-people-food-like (read:not tortilla shells for dinner at 10 pm)]

June marked the beginning of Stage III: living better.

In my opinion, I am doing a particularly bang-up job on this one. To prove it, I am going to post a series of my latest exploits, triumphs and creative endeavors.

But not right now.

Because I am tired.

P.S. Don't let me forget to tell you about how I went to my first zumba class and accidentally punched a girl in the face. Hard. (I think it's funny, she probably doesn't.)

My very own dinosaur hood!

On Friday, mom and dad (aka the best, most supportive parents ever) drove me up to Bham for graduation weekend.

We toured all my favorite places, ate great food and saw some of my favorite people.

Then yesterday, after a truly ridiculous amount of work stretched over two years, I graduated with my master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

One of my favorite moments from the weekend was when I gave my name to put on the wait list at Copper Hog and my dad corrected me, "that's Master Kristi." Man do I like the sound of that.

Bonus: I think my hood made look like a dinosaur.
